Large cabinet speaker identification

Once again I obtained an unknown speaker recently simply because the price was right on a local auction and I had to see what they were. They stand about 34 inches tall and have really nice walnut veneer. They can with two Heathkit products so I assumed these would be Heathkit models. Inside of each of these is just one Collins CS 12, which is a rebranded EV 12 coaxial. I had no intention of keeping, but they had instant wife approval factor. They sound quite good also. The closest Heathkit I can find is AE-30 or 40 for the cabinet. I found one similar cabinet style on 1stdibs, but with some aluminum on the front that were apparently designed by Kipp Stewart.

I spent some time with them yesterday and slowly rubbed them down with steel wool and some walnut Danish oil. They look even better now!

Yeah it looks like Knight was a company that made speaker and stereo "kits" Where you could add different components or use their DYI components...pretty much a parts-express pre-made box that you can build your own speakers with from there. Don't like our Knight drivers? Get an EV driver instead! Not a woodworker? No Problem!
