I doesn't sound like the drivers are still in them, but I love these old style cabinets. Have any 15" drivers laying around?

I do not. Howeer I always could buy some :D

Hell at that price they look cool and take up space.

I could build some pretty sweet subwoofers out of those.

Too late. I picked them up tonight. They are very nice. They did not have drivers, but I did get to see them - coax with chrome backets. Best of all, the guy lives about ten minutes from and me and is really into his gear.

I'll be maiking sub cabinets to go along with the two-way One Pis I just completed.....C

So he wouldn't sell you the drivers. That's kinda of commie if you ask me.

Maybe they were special though.

I'm glad an AK member got them. I just like the look. I would have customized those to the degree that they wouldn't have been worth their cabinet value.

Good score though. Tighten them up and hit them with some 15 kickers or somethng silly like that.

That;s wahta I was invisioning.

Jeez -- yesterday I sold my minty pair of Goodmans of England speakers -- drivers and cabinets -- for $90! :D

They have 15-inch woofers, mint woodwork and grilles! Had I known you were lookin' for old-timey monsters... ;)

Post pictures of the subwoofer project -- it does sound like fun!

$90 You made someone's day :thmbsp:

It's gonna take some time to make Stromberg-Carlson cabs sub ready. It will take about a sheet of MDF per cab and some heavy bracing, but they will sound - and look - nice when done. I think they'll be a nice complement to the One Pis I just finished (
http://audioroundtable.com/PiSpeakers/messages/21333.html) I will post pictures when I'm done

I also have dual subs in the works (cabinets completed) that are based on Eminance Lac12s (Three Pi subs, again from Pi speakers).

But.....I don't think either of these projects will hold a candle to the dual JBL2242H subs in 9cf cabs that are in my main system  They are just dangerous - and I'm not being funny. A 1000W through these is scary......C
