I own an AG-2700 Teac receiver (appears late 70s). There doesn't seem to be any teac receivers from this era on ebay and I can't find any information on this one. I can't find any reference to Teac receivers from this era on the internet. Is this receiver rare? Valuable? Or is it just trash?

I once saw a Teac reciever at the Truro MA dump, but it was actually a Luxman, distributed by Teac. And it was probably mid to late 60's. In terrible shape, so I left it there, but interestingly awkward, even crude looking, which surprised me, given later Luxman's suave looks.
Teac did make some seperates in the late 70's that looked fairly ambitious, so perhaps this was a relative of them.

Teac separates ARE pretty rare, everywhere.
I don't think they ever really tried to market them. Or nobody ever felt like buying them. Or both
The same goes for the Thorens separates for instance - same thing: not really their market... Teac still has a line of regular plastic junk (probably rebadges) next to their ultra-buck Esoteric sources and DACs but their sporadic ambitions in separates seems to have stopped with the very early 80s.

I have a silver faced Teac integrated amp and tuner. The integrated is a very heavy 30-35wpc piece. They are older pieces, perhaps before the Esoteric line came into being. They are definitely not the black, plastic crap that Teac has been marketing over the last two decades.

I've got an AG-7000 receiver. It's big and heavy, tons of output power. I think I remember reading something about these being marketed very briefly in N America, so there are not many around. Mine has a nice wood case and is a great perfomer. Occasionally this series shows on ebay.
How about a Int Amp??
Sold several of these in the mid 70's. Had power supply issues as I recall.

The Esoteric line was launched in '87, with the P1/D-1 CD drive/DAC and R-1 DAT (all big mutha monsters), so way after your separates I've seen in your other thread.
The Esoteric tag (and lineup) was Japan-only but -can't remember where I read this- it is now "exported" into several other markets as well.
