Picked up this 10 band Realistic 31-8000 equalizer. I have an addiction to equalizers.....lol... this is my 4th EQ... might flip one or two of them.. :)

Very nice EQ... adjustable left/right levels, mic input with pink noise generator, and a cool display :) .... it would have to be the best EQ I have ....

I searched the internet high and low for info and the only result Google gave me was an archived thread here on AK :)

That's a Pioneer SG-9 underneath it :)

I have A 12 band Realistic EQ working in my main system. Works really well and is nice and quiet. :thmbsp:

Picked up one of these today at the recycle store in new condition, even came with users manual. No microphone though, but might not have included one as manual suggests connect 'a microphone' rather than 'the microphone' or 'supplied microphone'. Manual does suggest it wants an electret type mic.

It does appear a nice unit, well made and all Elna caps. Individual channel calibration and two tape loops plus direct dubbing both ways between the loops. Seems quiet through the reciever's tape loop, haven't tried it through the pre-outs. Spec says mic input good from 31Hz (0dB) to 16kHz (+8dB), 1kHz = 0dB with 33Kohm mic impedance. Also noise is -95dB at 1V output, FR is 5 - 50K +.5/-1 dB, IMD is .02% at 1V.

Spectrum analyzer is going to be the useful part for me, I've set it up in my shop and will use it for testing out the response of the speakers I'm building.

Hi.... would it be possible to get a copy of that manual? I would really appreciate it... I would love to have the owners manual, if nothing else to figure out the whole "pink noise" generator thing (and I like to have a owners manual of all my gear)....

If you could hook me up it would really be appreciated!!

And yeah... this EQ is well made for sure....it does what it's suppose to do and then some...

Thanks

Stan
