Leak Aviation inc tube amp ?

So i picked up this tube amp from a guy that had an add for some tubes on a C- list ! And i was woundering if any one has any knowledge abought it ? The badge on it says ( VARRIABLE GAIN AMPLIFIER TYPE A ...SN# W-400 ...MFG# 57050 ..LINK AVIATION INC) I found some really cool info on the company that mr LINK made the verey first flight simulator! But i didnt find any thing on the amp its self though So i guess ill just have too figure out what wires are what on the mill type conector to change it too rca input and speaker binding posts ! Any info or advise id appreciate it THANX

It's a two-channel, single-ended 6L6 amplifier. You can see from the other photo that yours is missing the power-supply capacitors that go in the empty octal sockets next to the 5R4, so those would have to be replaced before you can even try to use it.

Are there any markings on the output transformers (the two in the middle)? It would be fun to rebuild as a 4wpc stereo SE amp but as is I don't know if there's much you can do with it as is. I don't know what kind of bandwidth it has since it may not have been intended for audio purposes.
 
I got to try out a Link trainer at an air show at Teterboro airport when I was a kid. They let me do stalls in it! I think I was about ten.
 
Hay thanx ! too bad he hadnt re done the socket and tryed it out Save me some worrying if it was worth the bill and will sound all right Guess ill find out .
 
Oh i have the capacitors they come out like a tube ive never noticed caps like that the peerless tranys i have but not the capacitors kinda cool !
 
I wonder what the output impedance and useful frequency range is. Looks like it was rack mount, and its very obviously a high quality commercial type stuff. Its also possibly not intended to drive speakers at full range though.

The grey transformer in the center picture I believe would be the output transformer. The RK ones are probably input transformers that convert from a balanced input to the usual unbalanced config that tube amps work with.

kind of wonder what this would have been used for.

Those were hi pot ratings not output voltages. Didn't notice on first glance

Someone in the other thread suggested they were used for driving "pen recorders" but I'm not sure what that means.
 
The widget on the table had a pen, which wrote on a paper map as it meandered around the table recording the simulator's ground track.

I fired it up with just the rectifier tube slowly on the auto trans and all was fine seems the capacitors re formed id like to get new ones but havent found any of the octal socket capacifors like it had though kinda bummed... its nice poping them in/out like a tube ! So next will be looking into that mill style plug and figure out the in and put wireing
