LED Replacements for McIntosh Bulbs Question

Mr. DeWick has my beloved MR74, MC2125 and MC2205 in for a tuneup and some burned-out bulb replacements.

I was wondering if anyone made replacement LED's for vintage McIntosh lamps and I discovered they were available from someone named Don Haywood.

I emailed Mr. Haywood and he responded with the following info:

Your MR 74 tuner uses:

2X dial thin WHITE festoons 6.3 Volt
2X 1847 6.3 Volt meter lamps (Usually BLUE)
1X 1828 38 Volt RED mpx lamp
4X 1866 6.3V panel lamps (Usually GREEN)

A complete kit of LED lamps costs $xx.xx post paid.

My question: Has anyone had any experience they can comment on using these LED's as replacement bulbs in their Mac's?

I'm also wondering if LED's would be a better choice as meter lamps in vintage Mac SS amps as I assume they would generate less heat? I would welcome thoughts and personal experiences on this as well.

I bought my blue Festoon style LED's on E Bay for my MX-110Z for about $12.00 (See my Avatar for the 110 in operation with the LED's)
I bought a set of 10 'pinball machine' #47 style socket blue LED's on E Bay for my Mc2300 for $6.00, and they look beautiful.

I'd imagine Terry would be able to assist you here as well. I had the LED upgrades done on my MC7270, C34V and MC2155 by a local service center and couldn't be happier.
