Yes its great, I posted a similar post a couple weeks ago when I got it. :thmbsp: and I agree Give Me One Reason is a standout. :music: Joe Bonamassa is really one hell of a guitarist, IMHO.

Great CD and great music - very easy on the ears. Audiophile grade sound quality. Another gem from Ritenour.:thmbsp:

I have found his CD's/Lp's topnotch since he had control on them. His Electra Musician Rio is a wonderful album with top notch sonics.

Thanks for the thread even if it is only 3 posts.

Slash, a great guitarist? What?:scratch2:

I think it's more about style of play, and varied technique which is the point of the album. IMHO

Yeah, I hear that. Next time I witness a dog's hind quarters soiling a hydrant I'll think of Slash in the liner notes.

I'm listening to the album now as I write. The recording is compressed but the talent takes your mind off that fact. I saw Scofield locally a few years ago and he responded acoustically to the vocalizations to an overzealous audience participant before he was escorted out. Fun, live and direct.

P.S. It has Mike Stern of Big Neighbourhood (great cd) country on it - bonus

Has anyone heard/tried the Monster Audio Super Audio DVD version?

It's a "local-store-only" purchase at Best Buy and there were none near me. I ordered it direct from Monster: http://store.monstercable.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=175&idproduct=9033

Just because I can't imagine it sounding any better than the CD . . . so I had to try it! Ordered it today so I'll have to wait and see. Listening to the CD right now and continue to be in awe. "Freeway Jam" is jammin' as I write this.

Got it about a week ago and have loaned it out already several times. The audio tracks on the DVD are stunning. Have yet to try the Headphone surround-sound tracks but both extra tracks are worth having and the short video is cool, too.

It's a great-sounding CD (included with the DVD, too) but the DVD audio quality is just . . . better! I liked the CD enough to now own both. If you can still find it (direct from Monster is where I got it) get it. It's available in-store only from some Best Buy stores. Just not the ones near me. :thmbsp:

Is Six String Theory engineered by Don Murray?

Ritenour has used Don Murray for virtually everything since the late 70's. All of the records I've heard engineered by him sound great!
