LeeSonic works his magic on another NAD 3020

When I graduated high school way back in 1978 I received several monetary gifts from family and friends. Being a typical 18 year old, the money was burning a hole in my pocket and since I had been wanting a decent stereo system for a while I decided it was time to take the plunge. I remember walking into the stereo store and the salesman (who was a friend of mine) walked me over to take a look at a new arrival, the NAD 3020 integrated amplifier. I could tell from his excitement that it must be something special. It certainly wasn't the most expensive or powerful amp they had in stock but when he switched it on I knew right away that it was indeed something special. Soon I was walking out of the store with my new NAD 3020 and a pair of baby Advent loudspeakers. Long story short, I enjoyed many years of listening pleasure to this amp until the mid 90s when it began to show its age (scratchy switches and knobs, weak left channel, etc...) so I retired the faithful old friend to the closet and went on to another system. Recently I decided to try and revive the 3020 and after reading through the forums here on AudioKarma I ran across several positive reviews of LeeSonic who had done work on these old amps and brought them back to life. I got in touch with Lee and arranged to have him do the work on mine. He clearly explained all the work that would be done and the use of quality Nichicon and Wima caps that would he would use. He kept me informed of the progress and soon the amp arrived back at my door. I anxiously got it hooked back up and the next several hours I spent listening to my favorites with a huge grin on my face. While the little amp had sounded good all those years ago it was now something else indeed! The clarity and warmth is amazing. I find myself noticing things in tracks that I had never noticed before and sonic images hang in the air like magic. Without a doubt, the work that LeeSonic performed brought this vintage amp back to life in a way that I never thought possible. If you have some older gear lying around you owe it to yourself to let Lee breath new life into it. You won't be disappointed!
