Lenco 75?

Hi.

Need your help and opinion.

I have a chance com buy a refurbished Lenco L75 with a jelco arm and new vblocks for 500€.

Is that a fair price?

I currently have a project essential Ii. Would the sound quality be much better with the same OM2red...

Guilty pleasure: can't stop thinking of getting the PLX1000. The Lenco is too complex and sensible piece of machinery

I'm not aware of any jelco arm that has v-blocks, though of course they can exist without me being aware of them and I don't know Jelco arms all that well. But it's the stock Lenco arm that has the famous detoriating v-blocks.

The L75 is not complex at all. It is a very elegant and robust design.
I think in Europe, L75s are pricey and the price may be fair. It depends a little on condition, mods and cartridge if any.

Yep. All Jelcos I've seen are used gimbal bearings, so no V blocks. Maybe the seller is including the original arm, with new V blocks?

From what I've seen the Lencos are easier to find in Europe so the price is highish although demand is pretty high. Jelco made a LOT of arms, so it kinda depends on that. I'm assuming no new plinth, since none is mentioned. I'd say that is required.

But if the OP is obsessed with getting a PLX1000, do that instead. Sounds that would make you happier. Hobbies should make you happy.

Edit: Now I understand that the SE edition came stock with the Jelco arm, so I have no idea what the V block comment is about. The SE was the TOTL Lenco when it was released, and apparently pretty rare. Therefore I have no idea on pricing.

An L75 is a study in minimalist simplicity.
Unless I'm mistaken on the deck, the PLX1000 is a study in what I'd never want in complexity.

If you sign up, and post an ISO ad in theYard Sale section, (or whatever its called), and let people know your location, you can do better than that.
It seems like you can get them for far less in Belgium; from what I've seen in my involvement with them (fairly extensive).
I'm in the US, and, 60hz versions are plenty spendy here.
