Let the tube madness begin

Fellow members. Yesterday I purchased a Audio Research LS-15 Preamp. The unit came with 4 Sovtek 6922s. I'm guessing that they may have been the originals because I've read that is what ARC used as stock tubes. In addition, I purchased a brand new set of 4 electro harmonix 6922 from the seller. I have just installed them and I am going to let them stay idle for a few hours before taking a listen. I've also come across a set of AMPEREX E188CC which seem to go for quite a few pennies. Are there any members familiar with using these? I am new to the tube scene and I feel that the madness has begun.

I have never found a 6922 series tube that sounds better than the Mullard CV2493 especially in a preamp.

Amperex 7308 isn't bad, esp. for low noise.

started listening 2 the Harmonix - let's just say the Sovteks are going back in as soon as I get off this computer. Going to look up the Mullards and Amperex 7308s. Keep the suggestions coming.

Any of the higher spec E88CC or 7308 tubes are pretty hard to beat.
