Okay, so I'm having a problem with recording from a line-in source on my Akai GXC-709D tape deck. Whenever I go to record something from a line-in source, there's this annoying buzz in the background which is partially abated when I touch the metal front of the deck, so I'm pretty sure it's a grounding problem.
It does this ONLY when recording from a line-in source, there's no problem recording from a microphone, and no problems during playback (this tape deck actually sounds really good during playback
). It does this whether or not it's near my amplifier or plugged into anything. It can't be a problem with the record head either, since this only happens when recording from a line-in source, not a mic. So I'm pretty sure it's grounding problem... only thing is, I haven't the slightest idea of how to fix it. Any ideas?
