Linear tracking lead in adjustment

Wondering if anyone out there know how to adjust the lead in on a Mitsubishi LT-55 turntable. I've cleaned it, lubbed it, New belt and new stylus. Only problem I'm having is the tonearm sits about 1/8" too far to the left. It leads in a touch late and it doesn't autoreturn because again it's 1/8" off the sensor when the record ends.

I don't know the LT-55 but have the LT-22. It has two adjustment-screws on the side, one is for the "rest" position, the second for the lead-in/lead-out position.

Check vinylengine.com, they may have the manual (free download once you register, again free) which will show how it's done on the 55.

Mine doesn't have any adjustment screws on the side. I've seen the schematics for the LT 22. Wish it was that easy for me.

It could be the belt. I have Luxman automatic (not linear) and I replaced the belt (as you did) but not quite correctly — the lead-in is now 1/4" off. I should have marked the pulleys first.

Mine did the same with the old belt. I thought that the issue might go away with the new belt. The lead in is actually good enough, but the real problem is the return, it's so damn close. I just checked vinyl engine and no info on my player.

I've little experience with mechanical automatic TTs (as opposed to later versions, which rely more on electronics. When I put a new belt on my Luxman, I didn't mark the pulleys' positions, and that seems that's why I got it wrong — new belt won't help if its going on misaligned pulleys. Now it's trial and error to get it right. Sounds like a tedious, frustrating job.
