Lineaum tweeter

I recently moved into a new house and in one of the rooms there was a radio shack in wall speaker. So I popped it out and there was a little woofer. I think it was a 6" or something. But the tweeter was different looking. After doing some research I found it was a lineaum tweeter. It pretty neat and I read some mixed reviews on it. It's model is et-5a. I was thinking of making it the tweeter for a center channel. What do you guys think? I haven't gave it a listen yet because I have nothing to put it in.

There's been lots of discussion of the Radio Shack Linnaeum speakers over the years...a quick search will get you lots of info.

Well I don't plan on using the woofer for anything. The surround was rotted and I don't have much interest in it. Just the tweeter. I think it would give a center channel a cool look.

If it was in wall it must be the front firing model.
I seem to remember there was a 360 degree model as well (dipole?).

Well you could reinvent the wheel as it were?? But RS already did a center channel, lineaum tweeter, center channel, I have one and as LOL "vintage stuff" goes the entry price ... is pretty low! Pretty sure you can find them on the bay ... not mine of course, even though I have not used it years. :)

But my LX 5's those I have had in daily use for more than a decade! I Luv my KG 4's my Mach One's, Nova 8'bs and my Walsh Ohm 2's ( those need repair) and my Sansui SF1's ... needs new caps. And when I scored some Sansui SP 1200's ... I like those also!

But after at least a decade of listening to my LX 5's, I found something "lacking" without them in my system?? So screw it, and with my Sansui Sp1200's I hooked them up in "parallel" plus to plus on the speakers to the plus on the my HTR. No issues and all hooked up to the sub. Most likely not idea as I can't level match the pairs as the LX 5's or sooo much less efficient than my Sansu-ies but good enough for me. :)

Well imma go for it. Imma post my build after it's done. To thanks for the input fellas!! This is by far the most helpful forum I've been on and I haven't ran into any assholes yet! This is slowly becoming my happy place

I have some towers and a center that have these tweeters. They're the Aura Line Source speakers. I think it's the same company that makes the bass shakers on PE.
