I have a Linn Basik turntable that I purchased without an arm but I do have a Rega RB 300 arm that I would like to fit, Has anyone done this and is there an adapter plate available or will I have to make my own? any help or advice anyone can give me will be appreciated. Thanks.

You'd have to bore a new hole as the Rega arm is longer than the Linn

FWIW I frequently see Linn tonearms on ebay, sometimes at big prices but often not, especially the Basik models.

I haven't owned a Linn but my sense is that the LP12 is the model with the easily-replaced arm board onto which different tonearms can be fitted.

Any standard Linn-fit arm will do - Jelco, Alphason etc.

I bought a Linn Basik recently and it's making some very nice noises with a Revolver Super Arm (basically a high-specification Jelco) fitted.

I have finished the Linn Basik with Rega RB300 tonearm, I glued a piece of wooden dowel into the original hole and measured the exact size of 222mm and using a wood boring bit cut the new hole, I made a base to cover where the old 3 screws would have gone with a carbon fibre patterned circle of vinyl, I have an old audio technical AT 110 cartridge with a new stylus that I will fit to test and make sure all is okay.
It looks smart and the carbon fibre arm base sets it off very well.
