I rescued a LINN MIMIK cd player a little while back for 15.00, then spent another 70.00 for a new laser assembly. The older one definitely had a bad laser. And now I can enjoy the LINN cd sound. It is different from my technics, and Tascam deck. What I would like to find out - Has anyone that owns this model cleaned the function switches? And would it make a real difference? I am not used to the power saving function that reduces the display from the basic information - track, time elapsed - to two dashes and that is all. There was allegedly a LINN adjustment to eliminate the power saving option - also would love to know what that requires. LINN isn't interested in the 1997 MIMIK to be able to provide that kind of information. They have better things to sell today! I have not advanced so far to rely on streaming music as my source of entertainment. In hand sound sources. Thanks in advance!
