Hi,
I have an 80s(?) UK Linn Axis turntable that I run at 220V so I run it on a step-down transformer that I bought from a UK friend. I use it with a '60s McIntosh MC-20 and 240 and '70s JBL L-100s and have owned it for about 12 years with no issues. I play mostly rock and jazz music on it. Love it; however, out of nowhere, the Linn will not start. I hear that the power supply is a common problem with old Linn TTs and they often require the replacement of the capacitors. I'd like to get it fixed and live in MA, north of Boston. Does anybody know who could do the work and do it well? I'd rather not replace it unless I have to.
