Listened To A Pair Of Acoustic Research MGC-1 Speakers Yesterday

It's not as if they consider it more important, it most likely is more important. This hobby isn't about priorities, it's about enjoyment. How someone achieves that doesn't really matter.

Unfortunately he hasn't posted in a while. I liked reading posts from someone who really knows speakers.

What does the discussion have to do with the age of the gear? Maybe I'm an anomaly. Getting the best results from whatever I have is what I'm about. That requires proper setup.

For those who must have multiple pairs of speakers in the room, you'll do yourself a favor if you jumper the inputs of any unused speaker.

When I was in college I worked at two audio stores, the first one being a home audio store. We were DBX dealers and got their line of upscale home audio stuff in, including that big BX series amplifier. We did have a pair of the Soundfield One speakers, but I don't remember a lot about them. They were a bit tough to sell, as DBX was not known for home audio gear, and the prices were on the high end.

The speaker that we carried that was real interesting, and I wish I bought a pair, were the ESB 7/07. Imported from Italy, and they sounded great, but you can't find them anymore.

well my house is still in Benton City, but its up for sale. I am in Olympia now. A couple of years ago I was thinking about a pair of Altec 19 that were in Boise.....shame I didn't know anyone over there to put an eyeball on them for me.
