Little advice please

Looking for some suggestions on getting another set of speakers to compliment my Dynaco A-25's. I'd like to stay vintage and I'd like to get something more accurate than the Cerwin-Vega D9s I currently have. Mostly listen to classic rock,blues,and some Jazz. Any suggestions are appreciated.

New Large Advents. I have a pair that I drive with my ST70. Wonderful sounding speakers. They handle rock, jazz, acoustic with great detail.

My guess is 'sound good with customary equipment and music, but different.'

I suggest something with horns, for a contrasting type of sound.

I should have been clearer. Something with some real thump,but smooth.Sorry, I have a hard time describing the type of sound I like.Being a Bass player for 45 years I of course like deep tight bass but I like to hear everything else nice and clear also.

if you want to spend more, AR3, 3a, 10pi, 11, or the 90's AR303 or 303a

90's vintage, Polk S10, AR310/312/315HO

I second the JBL recs. The 43XX are amazing good. I'm sure any blue faced JBL from the '80s or their corresponding L series will satisfy, very different than the A-25 if you want to mix things up a bit.

If your looking for lots of clean Bass,then you can't go wrong with a pair of Model 19's up in the left corner there.

ADS L-810's have real nice bass and great upper end detail. I like em anyway.

If your looking for lots of clean Bass,then you can't go wrong with a pair of Model 19's up in the left corner there.

In actual fact, the Advents go deeper in the low bass than do the Altecs. In terms of actual output in the 50 hz and above region however, there is no contest. The Altecs are the clear winner. The Advents, however are the best compromise in terms of price and size.

I would hardly call the Advents a "complement" to the Dynacos, as the sound characteristics of each are distinctly different. The Dynacos are smoother in the top end, with a sort of "laid-back" quality. The Advents run circles around the Dynacos in terms of bass response and (arguably)have better mid-range response. The high-end response of the Advents however, could only be termed as bright. I've owned several pairs and try as I might, could never successfully tame the top end of the fried-egg mid/tweeter. Even when employing the active equalizer on my powered Advents, I found the treble to be too harsh at moderately loud levels.

A nice complement to your A25's may be a pair of A35's.

One thing I failed to mention is the fact that I listen to a lot of vinyl. Not sure how much difference that makes if you already have good speakers.
