I have been looking for a long time for a son that matches the vibe of this song by MGMT for a long time but to no avail. Does anyone know any songs that are similar but maybe by a different artist? Songs by MGMT that are similar are also okay.

I'm sorta like one of the indie mavens here. The band MGMT maps pretty closely to The Naked & Famous in the Spotify genre "indietronica". So click on the link and that should get you started. Metric is "rockier" but still a close match.

Go to the source. The MGMT piece is derivative of the 80's goth new wave movement at the time, Some of The Cure's Deeper cuts, Bauhaus, Souixie and The Banshees etc.
