Little dot 1+, LDIII

I have the I+ . . .
Keep in mind it's a hybrid tube/solid state amp. You'll get some of the tube goodness, but it's not a 'pure' tube amp.

Just as a point of info, I think the MKIII (as opposed to the MKI+) is a pure tube amp, not a hybrid, is that right? I'm thinking of getting a MKIII, so wanted to be sure. I'll use it with my Marantz 7c preamp.

I had a LD II without the preamp feature but can attest that it sounded great with SR60 and Beyerdynamic DT990. Your not going to get concert levels out of the early models but they have the warm tube sound you seek. I have not heard any other LD products but do understand folks are pretty happy with thier purchases. I even beautified my amp a bit with some Maple wood accents.http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/ne...807&posthash=04a43729a7ed03a88818b220332bc698

I also have the LDIII. I use it mainly with ATH-AD700s, but it sounds fantastic with Senn SRH940s. The combination of great detail combined with the lushness of the LD III works for me. I prefer my Senn HD580s with SS or hybrid amps.

I also use it to feed a separate headphone system in the same room. I tried it with my Denon receiver and the combo created static. Luckily, the LD Dac 1 also has preouts that I use with the receiver.
