LMS artwork source

Just noticed that my LMS server is not displaying the album artwork (folder.jpg in each album folder) from my media library. All other tools are happy to use this (MediaMonkey, MusicBee, BubbleUPnP).

I do have the 'Music & Artist Information' plugin enabled, but I think I've got it set to use local artwork, unless there isn't any.

I've searched the slimforums and Google for help, but can't find anything, and I've been through all the Server, Plugin, Interface & Player settings, but can't see anything that looks like a relevant setting to select artwork source.

Anyone got any ideas?

Didn't remember it having the wrong artwork before, so I fired up the pCP/LMS installation I did on an old RPi B1.2. Thats has the correct artwork.

I did have a power outage a few weeks ago, so I wonder if something has got a bit out-of-whack with the settings. There was a fairly recent update to the Music & Artist Information plugin, too, IIRC, to 1.8.0. The RPi is running 1.7.2

I too have noticed that LMS does not use my stored album art. When I rip CDs I select the album/cover art that I want to be associated with the album. I embed it in the FLAC file and add a cover.jpg file to the folder.

Occasionally I notice that the displayed cover art shows an album sticker or other information that I purposely not choose to show on my album art.

I do not use the Music and Artist Info plug in. I also am not logged into my MySqueezebox account.

LMS uses MySqueezebox to resize artwork. See the Performance settings in Server Settings (near the bottom of the page at Artwork resizing). I wonder if instead of resizing the artwork stored on the server, MySqueezebox.com returns a saved version maintained in the cloud. I have the option set to Use Logitech Media Server to resize artwork.

I just deleted the cached copies of my LMS artwork (in Server Settings -> Performance) and Rescanned with Clear library and rescan everything set.

I quickly scrolled through my library of albums and did not see any cover art that looked different than what I would have saved. But I have over 3k albums in my library, so . . .

I am hoping this fixed it. I like to look at the cover art that does not include the promotional stickers and is good quality.

Both LMS installs have done their daily overnight rescans. RPi install is showing my artwork. SBC install showing foreign artwork. I think I'll have to clear the library and do a full rescan.

It's easy to see the different artwork, as the first sorted artist/album cover is obviously wrong. As are a few of the next 6500...

Looks like the rescan is restoring my artwork. Ir will take about five hours to complete...

Curious as I've never in ten years faced that challenge. I use dbPowerAmp for ripping which automatically finds metadata and artwork, captures and embeds the image.

I do not use the Music and Artist Info plug in.

Nor sure what challenge you're referring to; selecting the artwork you want, from the multiple sources found by your ripping tool, isn't really a challenge. You just go 'want that one', and the tool does the rest; either embedding, or dropping to a file in the rip folder, whatever you have configured the tool to do.

Ok. My response was to all the "I do" stuff mentioned...

I click "rip" and am done. The multi-threaded logic reads next track with one core and encodes current one on another simultaneously writing the results to the configured folder structure.

EAC uses metadata sources that provide multiple options of metadata and artwork. So I get to choose which metadata I prefer. Thereafter, everything is done automatically. I suspect @RTally has used first person descriptions for things he gets his ripping tool to do automatically for him; an informal description.
