Logitech Z623 vs Klipsch ProMedia 2.1

I have been looking for a new 2.1 speaker system to replace my Logitech Z506 (which I only use as a 3.1 setup) system. I have been looking at both the Logitech Z623 ($100 @ Amazon) and the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 ($150 @ Amazon) and am stuck on which one I should purchase. I mostly listen to hip/hop, pop, rap, and sometimes rock music. My current setup has the two front satellites about 2 1/2 feet apart on my desk and the sub under my bed which is right next to my desk. I will be using them in a dorm room which is about 10x14 ft. My current Logitech system is great but I just want something with cleaner, tighter, and more powerful bass that doesn't distort or rumble at low frequencies (-30-50 hz). Also the satellites in my Logitech setup clip a lot (I think that is the right word) when turned up past 70%. As well as which 2.1 channel system I should buy, I have a few more questions.

- are there any differences between the non BT and BT version of the Klipsch (besides the connectivity options)?
- i understand that a bookshelf system will beat these two systems in audio quality, but will a decent 2.0 system get anywhere near the bass output of these 2.1 systems?
- are there any other 2.1 systems I should consider? ($150 budget)

From my experience with the much older version of the Logitech z623 they seem to be much of the same build quality, they haven't changed much over the years. The satellites use 2.5" full range drivers that are crossed over way too high and the woofer is forced to take over too much of the mid/low responsibility. To me personally, back when I didn't know any better, I thought they had great bass. Once I started listening to quality speakers, the Logitech's were majorly obsolete.

I also heard the older klipsch promedia 2.1 and it's a much cleaner system than the logitech, out of the 2 they'd be my choice.

Once I started learning (obsessing) about higher end audio equipment, I realized with a little hunting I could build a system that was 100× better than those 2.1 systems for half the price. I found a mint Lafayette LA 224T amp for 20 bucks then got a set of Acoustic research ar18s for free that needed foam. 22 bucks for foams and those bookshelf speakers with only 15 watts each sounded so much better in every way, it was like a revelation.

I would vote for getting creative, find a cheap DAC (I use a 45 dollar soundblaster usb) a cheap, qulaity used amp and a set of nice bookshelf speakers that have an extended low end and you'll be so much happier in the end.
