long exposure with DSLR

Here's a fun thing to try. Long exposures with a DSLR. If your DSLR has a long exposure noise reduction, be sure it's on. This was shot at 400 ISO, F-8, 2 minutes, 28mm focal length. Camera obviously on a tripod. Shot about one half hour after sunset. Note how the stars begin to trail and the water turns glass like.

Very nice. FWIW, our son's been playing with long/night exposures a bit with his D40. He might have a photo or two on his Deviantart pages (I don't recall fo' sho', and it's blocked at work).

Thanks so much for the link! Your son's very talented. I really like his abstract shots. Excellent use of composition and "leading lines". Very nice work.
