I mean, what do you say that hasn't been said? lol... I have learned a few things here and hope I can impart some wisdom (might take me 20 seconds).... in any event, having an intro forum is so much more civilized than just jumping into a question.

Anyway, a little bit about me... This is a bit of a ramble... feel free to tune out at will! I like to experiment with things.... I've been in IT or electronics sales my whole career... got into audio sort of as a back door to my earliest love for radio (shortwave - boat anchors are the best!) and my first real HiFi purchase was a McKay Dymek AM tuner (seriously? who would do that?), then the usual stuff for a 70's college student - Garrard turntable, speakers by a company no longer in business, HK receiver, etc. Once I had a little money I ended up with what is partially my current vintage system, which I am making over. It used to be an HK cassette deck, a Tandberg 9141x, Citation Fourteen tuner (Dolby on FM never really took off, huh?), some Cerwin Vegas big honkin' jobs, a Dynaco PAT4 (then 5), Soundcraftsman EQ, Philips GA 212 TT, some amps that I built from a kit by SWTP (a rage among the engineering students I knew), etc. I still have the TT, Citation, EQ, and CV speakers... the amps / preamps bit the dust, no more R-R, replaced the cassette deck... it's not my primary system, but am thinking about resuscitating it at least partially...

I have a '56 Seeberg Jukebox which is all original and now needing some serious attention - I have to recap it, bought a tube tester on eBay (can't go to the drugstore anymore), and I have a speaker and a wallbox between the family room and the kitchen, so the juke HAS to work, or what's the point? And now my 30 something daughter all of a sudden is enraptured by my Philips turntable, so probably going to lose that. I have a VPI now, but that Philips, which has just been sitting around (and super clean), I just discovered has a V15 Type IV on it - can't believe I forgot I had that... A college buddy has the whole Citation stack from that era still working (11, 14, 16). We kept our stuff pretty clean, so now he's considering a rebuild on the 16 - and we've been going back and forth on the wisdom of that in a streaming world - which is one of the things that brought me here in the first place. I'm not talking about any of my new stuff, which is more boring, but am thinking about a hybrid of modern and old for the fun of it.
