Looking for 2SC1364 transistor substitute

Does anybody know a good substitute for the 2SC1364 transistor? I have searched some old posts but looks like what was recommended before is no longer available.

This transistor is part of protection circuit in Sansui 661 receiver.

if it's functionality dependant, maybe will it be good fit in my case?
Actually, my case of the faulty 2sc1364, is in Sansui 6060.
(F-2700, F-2701 Version)

on board F-701, Transistor TR603 (2sc1364) prevent the voltage to reach the tone board (F-2646, point 05), thus i don't get any signal at the output of the preamp/tone board.

i read here that the substitution is KSC945.

but, i also find here in AK sometimes they wrote ksc1815, sometimes ksc1845.

So, my question is, i have in my hands or ksc945, or ksc1845.
which one of them should i use?

The KSC945 will usually work. Its pretty much the same transistor as the KSC1815 assuming the datasheets are remotely correct, which they may not be. Just make sure you consider the pin-out. The KSC945C version is ECB. The non-C version is EBC.

Can i ask please one last important question regarding the Sansui 6060.
I want to reset the bias according to service manual.
The service manual shows where to put the negative and positive probes (in F-2648 version)

But, my board is the other version F-2701 & F-2700.
I managed to find the two emitters i need to put my probes on, but, i dont know the direction.
This way i might set it to -15mV insted of +15mv.

Any help please?

Which "problem" do you mean?
I don't have voltage in the tone board, and I see Tr603 and Tr602 responsible of this. The base of Tr602 share the voltage of Tr603 colector. When its too low Tr603 don't work and emitter (connected to tone board) don't send any voltage. Sorry my poor english. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, thanks!

Check R601 220ohms

Recapé mi 6060 y las salidas dan -1.1. ~ 0,96
Cambié el c1364 por un c945. el canal derecho 15mV y el canal izquierdo -19mV.
the preset does not change if I adjust it. Leave it like that?

Well, I'm working on a Sony TA-AX44 power amp at the moment and I've found two 2SC945's being used where there were supposed to be two 2SC1364's (at least according to the Authorized Service Manual), so I'm assuming the Sony fab thought that the 945 would be a decent sub for the 1364. In turn, some sites suggest the good ol' 2N3904 as a sub for the 945 (though the pinouts are different). Since my 1364's are toast and the 945 is supposedly hard-to-find, I'm gonna drop a couple of 2N3904's in there from my parts bin and see what happens.

And yes, these two trannies are being used as a Darlington pair to drive speaker protection circuitry (a 24VDC DPST N/O relay, to be more specific).

In another post thread on diyAudio, a modern replacement for the 2SC1364 is suggested: the KSC2383, primarily because it will handle higher current (up to approx. 1A) and higher voltage transients. Apparently the current spike when the relay kicks in/out is high enough that it's just on the edge of the 1364's capabilities, stressing it over the long-term. The 2383's got more "head-room" for current spikes.

BTW, the 2N3904's were 50/50: one worked, the other one was still presenting voltages that were wildly out-of-spec (I don't think mismatching of the trannies had anything to do with it — these were tape parts, which tend to be very similar). I've now ordered a whack of KSC2383s to do some bulk on-board replacement (the TA-AX44 uses seven of 'em in the protection circuitry!).
