Looking for a preamp recommendation to pair with VTA ST-70

Hello. I am looking for a preamp to pair with the VTA ST-70. I really only listen to records, and many of them are mono, so it would be great if the pre had a phono stage and a mono switch, but I'm open to anything.

Thanks for your input!

Well, not exactly what you mention but I have always been really happy with Bottlehead gear in front of the various Dynacos I have had.

I would hunt down a Wright Sound WPP 200C phono preamp-two stages- all tube- lots of gain. this would be a great match from my experience. It has about 60db of gain so you can run it direct into your amp!

If you like your VTA 70, why not look at Roy Mottram's preamps?
I may go that route. I was looking at those preamps and was thinking of maybe doing the separate phono stage in addition to the pre, but I think that setup still doesn't have a mono switch so I thought I'd see what else is out there.

I'm sure an Email to Roy would make short work of adding a mono switch to one of his preamps. I use a SP-9 from VTA for my Mc40 monoblocks and love it.
