I am looking for a repair shop that would fix my Harman Kardon PM660 amp in the NYC area.
I was using a DeOxit D5 to clean the amp to fix a problem where the mode selector would only play on both speakers if it was set to mono, and stereo would output sound on one speaker and reverse would flip the speakers it was outputting sound.
I tried to test the amp after I cleaned it, and now left channel is not working at all no matter what mode I select it on and it makes crackling noises when I use the volume knob and volume cuts off entirely when I try to raise the volume too high
I've taken the same amp to Hi-Tech Electronics on Canal St. in downtown Manhattan for an unrelated issue when I first got the amp, but the issues that led me to clean the amp in the first place started AFTER it was repaired, so I don't think I'll be a returning customer to them.
P.S. One thing I wanted to ask is if the direction of the fuses that go in matter, and if the plastic cover for one of the fuses strictly necessary for normal operation.
