Looking for a significant upgrade from Dynaco A25 speakers

Hello, I am looking to replace and make a significant upgrade from my Dynaco A25 speakers.
Any thoughts or additional input is appreciated.

Currently looking at:

Elac debut 2.0
Klipsch 600 RP-600M
Triangle borea bro3

Powered by a NAD 316BEE V2, Music is Progressive rock, (Porcupine Tree), Listing levels are on the high end. Looking at a budget of 600.00, Room is my upstairs loft, 20'x15' vaulted ceiling, There is a half wall directly behind my listing position and I sit about 10ft from the speakers.

More shimmer on cymbals tells us you like to hear the highs, correct? If so, the Klipsch on your list would be a good starting point to go listen to.
 
I picked up a pair of NHT SB3 recently and they are very nice. I would use them in the sound room. The A25 I will not. The NHT was 600 new but replaced with the C3 which is 800 a pair. I would think used either would be a nice upgrade. I don't know your selected replacements. The SB3 is sealed so it will need some power to go loud.
 
If you like the basic A25 sound but want more modern-sounding highs - more shimmer - you might look for A25XL or A40XL, very similar to A25 and A35, but with an updated tweeter.
 
I did drop in some updated tweeters several years ago. Purchased from marisound, the seas series, dont recall the model. The NAD does drive the Dynacos pretty well. It has some juice even with the conservative watt rating.

If you like the A 25s, I doubt if the recommendation of Klispch will lead to long term happiness. JSE/Infinite Slopes or Vandersteens would be more like it, and maybe Spicas.

Good point. You would need to change the cross-over to include an 8uf cap and 1.0uf coil if you went with the A25XL tweeters the 5 position level switch should also change too, as the A25XL has a 3 level switch. The H086 tweeter (A25XL) has a higher end on the frequency response and will handle more power.

If you want to go new HF driver, Madisound offers the A26 speaker using SEAS components. You might want to get the HF driver and cross-over components for that and stick it in your A25. Note that the woofer from the A26 will not fit the A25 cabinet as it is a larger rim diameter.

Should be able to find them in your price range, Jamo C103's, some patience may be require. These originally retailed for $1800, and worth every penny.

They came in 3 finishes, mine are the high gloss black.

I have them on twin Dayton Audio Sub 1200's from Parts Express as stands. These have A LOT of bass on there own, but the subs make them giant killers.

It may not be the speakers ..
Lack of separation between the instruments is a symptom of a lack of power ..
The Dynaco is a fine sounding speaker, but you'll never hear what it's capable of with limited power ..and the NAD isn't specced for much reserve power ..
Take them to the stereo shop and hook them up to a high current power amp and see if they sound better to you ..
Then you'll have a better idea whether you're shopping for speakers or a power amp..

Better yet is find a power amp that you can try in your system before you buy..

In my opinion, and my experience, you wont get satisfying bass from just a pair of 6.5" woofers. youll need to add a subwoofer. but for arouund $500 US. you can get a used pair of JBL L36, L26 or L19 all which are amazingly good at high volumes and great for rock...they are bright speakers, so turning down frequency knob will help with that, but if you like a smoother more velvety sound then british speakers like B&W DM14's or similar would sound great...
