Looking for advice on Christmas turntable for my parents

I initially planned on getting my dad a new cartridge for my parents turntable, for Christmas... but then I remembered what a cruddy turntable they have. So I'm looking for a turntable instead, in the $200 dollar range, used vintage.
I've come across several possibilities and was hoping some of you wouldn't mind weighing in on the choices. Some of these tables are less (or slightly more) than $200, but here goes:

Pioneer PL-518, PL-516, PL-117D
Yamaha YP-D71, yp d6
Sansui SR- 535, SR-2050C
Micro Seiki DD-22
Mitsubishi DP-EC8
Marantz 6100
Thorens td-150 mkii

I am considering these due to what is available to me and based on the info I've come across, but I have no personal experience with any of these tables. So advice would be welcomed. I'm hoping at least one of these tables is worth getting. I think any of them would be better than their current one.

I had a Marantz 6200 and was happy with it. I just sold it for just a little less than your budget. Decent table, decent sound and it always ran fine with no problems.
 
I forgot to mention, realistically, I will be buying online. So if you come across a table thats not mentioned (in your own travels), I would welcome the suggestion.

Those are some nice looking tables, I'll be keeping an eye out.

Besides the 'bay, I am looking on Audiogon and Canuck Audio Mart. I'm still waiting for my Systemdek to arrive from Canada :tears:, so that would be a last resort in this case, unless it was a really good bargain.
 
Something p-mount might be good so your parents can replace worn stylli in the future without any hassle.

My dad's an engineer, knows how to solder, has kept up his electricians license since I was a kid, etc... so he should be fine. ;) Although I do want something my mother can use easily, once it is set up properly... although she can solder too :D, but is honestly clueless about electronics.
Anywho, I'm still obsessively searching, trying to be patient enough to find the best table I can get in my budget. Also feeling slightly guilty that I just bought myself a nicer table than I'll be getting them.

What's the rest of their gear like? Bit hard to recommend without knowing.

Thanks :) It's the only way to ensure that my mother's rare records are in decent shape when I inherit them ;)

I don't remember anything remarkable, but I'll have to check tomorrow, I don't want to wake them up. The one thing I did make a note of is the turntable, which is a Fisher mt 715 that only stops spinning when you unplug it, makes changing records a little more exciting... it's gotta go. Safe to say the most urgent upgrade. They came home right as I was checking out the table, didn't make it to the rest, but will do in the morning-ish :smoke:
