Looking for cheap headphones for testing rebuilds

When I test or rebuild an amp or receiver it's nice to use headphones prior to setting up big speakers. I'm not looking to spend a lot. Is there a sweet spot for cheap <$100 stereo headphones. I don't need special features or super high grade audiophile quality. I'm also perfectly fine looking for used. Prefer old school 1/4" plug but using a 3.5 mm converter is also OK.

Any suggestions for decent cheapies new or used? Over the ear/comfortable/lightweight.

If you want a neutral sound the Austrian audio HI x15 might do the job

Try the non profit auction site....they have LOTS of decent headphones for cheap!
 
Try Koss Porta Pro's. They are the cheapest "decent" headphones I've heard.

IMO/E for true neutrality in headphones ESL's are the best way to go. Planars are a close second for a lot less money. Planars and ESL's are generally open back so there is always some leakage into and from the room.
