Looking for guidance! Onkyo Integra setup

Hello all! Looking for feedback and info on my setup. I'm torn whether or not to swap out for all-in-one vintage Marantz or stay put. Your opinions and feedback are certainly welcome. I need guidance!

I have this combo: Onkyo Integra Power Amp M-5030 and Pre-amp P-3030. Also, an ADS P2 turntable. Also, running this into two late 60s KLH Model Five.

Only visibile wear are main buttons. All lights work, and dial posts were cleans a few months ago. This beast works perfectly. This combo is in near perfect condition.

So ... thoughts? Attached is photo.

Yes, running that system stacked that way is sub-optimum. You're probably already getting feedback through the turntable not to mention hindering the airflow needed by the amplifier. Move the turntable away and invert the amplifier / preamplifier stack.
 
Thank you. I don't notice any feedback but my ears aren't super in tune with audio nuances ... I will switch up stack!

If you're not noticing any feedback then you're probably okay but it shouldn't be sitting on top of the amplifier either. Nice gear by the way. :)
 
thanks... I've had it for almost 10 years. Didn't spin anything on it for over 4-5. this year just been building up my record collection again and playing more. btw - this year I did put feet under pre-amp because I was noticing it getting warm. It's helped, but it doesn't solve it. I need to do the right thing!

That's an awesome system. Onkyo Integra stuff is really nice; so is ADS and KLH. As was suggested, spread stuff out to get some airflow. That Marantz all-in-one would be pretty good, but not even close to the level that system is currently.

Of course, if you wanted to use the Marantz and ship the rest to me, I wouldn't mind ;)
 
I'm a big fan of Onkyo gear, and would definitely keep what you already have. That 5030 is a VERY nice amp. I'm currently looking for an M504, 506RS, or 5060 to put in the living room with my Allison Twos, and I'm currently running an HK Citation 22 if that tells you anything.
 
Roadrash -- thanks for the guidance and props! I will def. spread out for airflow. Do you think I can achieve a better vinyl sound with a better turntable?? The KLH have a pretty amazing soundstage. I am happy with what I am hearing but this is the only TT I have ever owned! Let me know what you think -- I'm probably not looking to spend Thorens kind of money, but what would be a next tier? Pioneer? tx!

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of vinyl. When I was growing up that was the best sound available. My personal preference is CDs, and if you notice there are no turntables listed in my systems in my sig. I just recently listened to my dads system after I took the Sonabs back to his house. The first thing I did was(after letting the reciever warm up for awhile)listen to an old familiar LP. I sat there and remembered why I went to CDs in the first place. To be clear he has a very nice Denon TT with an Ortofon cartridge. He paid 750 for the turntable and about 150 for the cartridge in 81. I remember clearly because I fronted him the cash. Lol. All that being said, Denon made some really nice tables, Pioneer, and Technics too. Research your butt off and surf your local CL, there are a lot of waaaay more knowledgeable people on here than me btw. I was just fortunate enough to be a teenager during the golden 70's, and the old man let me listen to his stereo anytime I wanted. I'm still using the Onkyo A5 he bought new in my secondary system. I use Lego blocks to raise my units. This of course is because my grandson is now five and not too into Lego blocks.
