Looking for info on a Stanton 681

That EEE S II on Ebay is a great deal, if the Stylus is OK. The cantilever suspension looks like it may be collapsed, but that can be fixed with WD40.

IMG_4690.JPG IMG_4689.JPG You see the dent on one side and the undamaged other side. I think if it was bent, both sides would show damage. I just wonder how much the sound quality is affected. Thanks for your interest by the way...

TJ if the cantaliver is still straight back to front it is probroly good. That dimple is not from manufacturing.

It's hard to describe, but if one side of a tube bends, the other side usually gets deformed. There is no kink whatsoever, but there is an extremely subtle curve that you'd never see unless you really examined it. It seems to work fine, but I am no expert. Thanks to all who have helped and apologies to the OP for hijacking his thread.

TJ yes there is a slight curve. It was bent at one time. The person who mounted the cart knew this and mounted it with the cart askew to compensate for this. This may work if the stylus itself is properly alined only your ears can tell you. There are people out there who can cut the cantilever and graft a new one on with new stylus. For a resonable price.
