Looking for info on "Brandenburg" speakers

Hi All,

I was looking to see if anyone has any information on Brandenburg vintage speakers. I was given a set of larger bookshelf speakers with the only identifying mark on them being the word "Brandenburg" on the bottom of the speaker grill. The cabinets are very well made and they have some heft to them.

They sound amazing IMO and would like to know more about them, but i have not been able to find any info on this brand from any source. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Attached are some pictures of them if it is any help.

I happen to know a bit about the Brandenberg speakers you have. They were made by a small custom shop located in Fall River Massachusetts. They were made most likely in the early 90's. The company used to also own a business under the name of Images, Sight, and Sound located inside the old Harbor Mall in the south end of Fall River. The shop was a high end stereo shop selling all kinds a goodies at that time. How do I know this, Well I worked in that shop for a short time. I know the man that made and built your speakers by hand. He also gave me the bug for fine woodworking. I have 2 pair of Brandenburgs still. One set of 8" and one set of 10" both 2ways. I made the cross overs for both of them when I worked at the stereo shop. It was a lot of fun back then. This shop also custom made the biggest set of loud speakers I have ever seen. Short story long. The shop called a moving company to deliver this set of custom speakers. The moving company sent over two old guys figuring that a pair of loud speakers would be no challenge. These speakers were as big as 2 refrigerators and easily weighed 300-400 lbs each. The sound was un believable too. I you have any other questions about these speakers, let me know. I hope this information, although late was helpful.
Cheers!!!

Hi Tim, that's actually pretty cool! Small world. These may be my favorite speakers. Any chance I remember any models names or numbers or anything? Id love to see if any others are floating around, or different models, but with their name, it's almost impossible to find any. Lol thanks Bach and Karlheinz Brandenburg.

You'd think living in RI there would be a few floating around the area.

KInd of late here, but as a regional rep for Technics in the early 80s I stopped into that store Images Sight & Sound and listened to the Brandenburg line there. Overall I liked them, kind of reminded me of the better McIntosh speakers-- heavy on the furniture and decent voicing.
