Looking for Jazz trio combo;s.

If you have internet streaming capability, you may want to try Radio Swiss Jazz. Great music (a lot of it from small groups and vocals mostly in English), no commercials, and excellent sound quality. Their website features a lot of into on their playlist artists, as well. Gets a lot of play in my house.

Check out Keith Jarrett Trio with Jack DeJohnette and Gary Peacock. Also, Robert Glasper and Jason Moran are probably two of the hottest contemporary pianists right now.

Anything by the Crusaders, Joe Sample is/was the best!

The early King Cole Trio recordings, in a piano/guitar/bass format, are great. The focus was more on Cole's piano playing than his vocals back when he started recording in the 1940s.

you should not leave out diana krall. the video "live from paris" is superlative. she, anthony wilson, jerff hamilton, and john clayton make a quartet but it is SOOOOOO nice.

MMW, that may not be the trio the OP was looking for.
