Looking for MA2180B Diode replacement

Hi to everyone! My first post, so I hope to be putting this in the correct forum. I have a Technics SA505 that I received not working. I am looking for any ideas on a replacement for the MA2180B diodes. I believe this is a 18 Volt 1 Watt Zener. Is there a single type replacement, or anything I could use in series for the same value?

Looks like 1N4746A should match and is commonly available.
 
Welcome to the site. You will have to redo your handle someday yanno....

Finding subs is a big reason people come here...me included and I have been here for 13 years? One thing you can do is type in google 'xxxxxx' replacement and that will commonly give results from here and diy. then you can drill in and build off others work and ask if it works for your sitch. I find the majority of my fixin advice from people who have gone before so to speak. dont be afraid to resurrect old threads with new info and be sure to look in the manufacturer forums - the model specific smart cookies tend to take notice there sooner...

ps if you dont know what mouser.com or digikey.com is, learn, create accounts.
 
Thanks Dave. I must not have been entering the right info on digikey or mouser to find that number. Thankyou too Quad. I did search for that diode in the manner you mentioned, but results fell short and hence the start of this thread. Ya, I will probably have to change my handle as I have about a dozen other receivers to work on yet. I have found a lot of info on most of what I need to work on thanks to all the great users of this site. I hope to share and fill any blanks to help out future hobbyists as well.

k lets do a live test...drill in on mouser to here: discreet semis - https://www.mouser.com/Semiconductors/Discrete-Semiconductors/_/N-awhng

then check 18v zener voltage, 1w power dissipation and axial mounting and voila...1N4746A

mousers click thru searching like that is VERY easy to use
 
The first few times I went to Mouser and Digikey I wondered what the hell I was looking at.
After rebuilding a few units I can now fly through and find what parts I’m looking for quickly. Just takes a bit of time to get familiar.
