Looking for PL-630/610 Parts

I have started to Clean Up Backup Parts....Still have PL-630 parts.

Would this work? I can send the whole piece as from this thread it's a Bitc* to remove the screw.

PM me your contact Info. I can get this out Monday and it's on the House.

Hi Joe,

I am doing the restore for csmith. You should have my shipping address and other specifics from our last work together. If not, let me know and I will send the info by email.

Again, you are a lifesaver.

Thanks,
Rich P

Joe,
Awesome Karma, very kind of you to help a member in need of a hard to come by part, I know this is not the first time you have helped the good people of AK get parts they need. Thank you for your kindness and generousity!

That's what makes this place the best.
Joe, let me know if I can help you in any way and I will do my best.
Thanks so much

Thanks so much!

Good luck with that. That does not appear to be the way that Joe rolls. :trebon: It makes one kind of uncomfortable, but blessed. There are not many around like him.

Enjoy,
Rich P

Just sent this out today...UPS.

Joe, your contribution to the health and well-being of csmith's PL-630 has arrived today. The tonearm and it's packaging came through undamaged. Your packaging was very nice and safe. Once again, you are a life-saver. Many thanks for being a friend to folks you have never met in person. The world could use many more like you.

Do you like Scotch?

Thanks so much!

csmith, we are now off to the races. It will be only a couple more days until she is once again gorgeous and singing beautifully... I will post some pics in this thread, when she is done, in case some watchers are curious how she turned out.

Enjoy,
Rich P

I am so thankful for all the kind people in this forum and can hardly wait to put her into place. I recently purchased a VTI rack for my equipment and have a spot waiting for this gorgeous turntable. I will post pics as soon as she is resting at the top.

For the curious...here is the little part, without which, or a kludge of some sort, a $700 turntable becomes a paperweight:

Locking Collar.jpg

Thank you CohibaJoe. By the way, this collar was already loose in the tonearm that you sent me. I removed the collar with my fingers. Maybe loose collars are not as rare as I have believed. I will be checking them as a matter of course in the future.

To install this one securely, I have found that a bit in one of my security screwdriver sets has just the bit (blade tips that fit in the slots on the collar and has open space where the bearing cone is. Set the rotation of the bearing cone position with a jeweler's screwdriver, and hold it there while securing the locking collar.

The rest of the restoration of this PL-630 should be a piece of cake. Pics to come when done...

Enjoy,
Rich P
