Looking for some feedback on turntable values

starting to look around for another turntable... have no idea what to expect to pay for a vintage TT in hopefully good working order... anyone out there know what would be a reasonable price to pay for any of the following:

Sansui SR-636
Sansui SR-838
Sansui SR-929

JVC QL-Y55F
JVC QL-Y66F
JVC QL-A75

Yamaha YP-D8
Yamaha YP-D10

Pioneer PL-50
Pioneer PL-51A
Pioneer PL-530

just to name a few... thanks for any feedback.

I can`t comment on the Sansuis, but have a JVC QL-F6 and QL-Y5F, a Yamaha YP-D4, YP-D8, and YP-D71, and used to have a PL-530 (sold it for $130 on CL). You might find one of the others in the $100-200 range locally, otherwise a bit more on ebay. Just keep looking as I picked up a PL-630 for $10 a month ago.

thanks for the input... came across a JVC QL-Y3F... do you have any knowledge on that TT... sounds like the $200 asking price might be a bit high, but seller says it is in near mint condition... what do you think of that asking price?

My father just sold his Sansui 929 for $475. It was in perfect working order with a new stylus and in immaculate condition though.

That`s a fantastic 10kg TT with specs equal to my QL-Y5F. If it really is mint and needs nothing, I`d say go for it. Sure, you might find a better deal later on but will it be a nicer unit? You won`t lose money either if you decide to sell it in the future.

Make sure you test it thoroughly and check the tracking force. I have a cheap, but accurate digital jewelers scale with a small tab of electrical tape affixed to the top to set the needle down on. Take along high quality headphones for listening.
