Looking for some new cans...

Hello! im in the market for some new cans but what im looking for i cant really find. i want to get a pair so i can rock out on my rebuilt Pioneer SX-636 at night without needing to deal with waking up everyone on my lane. What im looking for is a set of over ear cans with NO built in volume, NO Bluetooth or wireless of any sort and NO built in 10 cent microphone. i would also like to have good sub bass response. something between 50-$100. my current cans are over ear wireless deals and they dont get loud at all before distortion. maybe a little over talking level. and i tested its not the head phones themselves distorting its the wireless box that plugs into my source and they wont work without that black box.
Toss me some ideas!

I have the 325s and like all of them they can get uncomfortable on your ears, but you can order the larger over-the-ear foam rings that come with the Statement series for a few bucks. They're an exact fit and make a big difference in comfort.

sony mdr-7506, but get some better aftermarket ear pads.
This ^^^^ x2.

That or maybe look into the AKG K52 closed back headphones.

I have pairs of both and they both sound very good and have good isolation w/very minimal sound leakage.

Just be sure to buy from a reputable vendor to avoid getting some knock-offs...

The AKG's look almost perfect but only 200mW? i fell i would blow out the 200mW rating in some bass heavy songs.

Doubt it,but I guess anything is possible.

Though do consider that most all the vintage AKG high impedence cans (K240 Sextett/K250/K260 for example) are rated for 200mW max.
And trust me those AKG high impedence 'phones can get VERY LOUD with solid & accurate deep bass response.

Besides I have the benefit of knowing from personal experience that those K52 get plenty loud when being driven by my Sansui AU-217.

One given spec considered by itself wont necessarily tell one everything they may need to know...

Besides at those sorta SPL's,possible hearing damage my be the more pressing concern.

But I digress.

Look like a good buy there dosn't seem to be many new headphone's at a reasonable price that don't have a mic or other rubish on the cable now days.

If you can stretch the budget a bit, the V-Moda -100 is a great choice for someone that wants good overall sound quality but wants truly impressive bass performance. They are a $200+ headphone but Amazon has them in black for $160.

A used set of ATH-M50 would probably do you well but count on buying new pads.

With a firm ceiling of $100 brand new, you could do a lot worse than Audio Technica ATH-M40x.

For a really tight budget, the AKG K52 is only $30 at Guitar Center. Very nice for that kinda price.

I've never heard the ATH-M20x but I got the M30x when it was on sale at Guitar Center about a year ago and they are not terrible.
