Looking for expert advice on mating a Westerm Electric 594 to an Altec 1505.

i was under the impression that this had been done before and although i know it isn't ideal has anyone done this or know someone who was done this or should i abandon the concept?

I have a 594 due to luck. It came with a 31A so in an attempt to upgrade while i dream of a 24A or 26A horn i purchased a 1505. While i knew there was the obvious issues around bolting and throat attachments going from 2" to 1.4" i had thought in all my research i had read examples of this being a viable option. Sadly i can't find actual evidence now and am just confused.

This could apply to any 2"exit into 1505 i imagine. Is this just never going to sound good or ever apply the correct loading to the driver?

The easiest functional solution i thought was to get a Eminence HA14-2 1.4" - 2.0" Compression Driver Throat Adapter and attach to a trad altec throat. What i wonder is if someone has designed and produced a small run solution for this problem. Is there any known 2" to 1505 horn throats that have the proper taper etc... or is this just always going to be wrong?

I appreciate any and all insight.

There's a guy on HifiHaven.org that prints stuff. You might post over there if this doesn't get any traction.

Use a JBL 2328 throat and make an adapter to mount it's rectangular flange to the rectangular flange of the 1505 is probably the easiest path.

In the now somewhat distant past some fellas cast 1505 throat adapters to mount TAD 4001 to 1505, there's some discussion(old) at the Lansing Heritage Forum.
