Looking to upgrade my speakers

I have decided to do an upgrade and I would like the groups’s suggestion for the best under $2000 speskers. My amp is a Pioneer SX1050 and my current speakers are the KEF Q350. I am looking for better imaging, better staging and maybe better performance of higher frequencies while conserving the accurate lower frequencies that the KEFs have. The Q350s currently sell for $800-$1000, so I gues I want to see if I can find twice the sound quality for twice de budget.
I live in Mexico, so not all brands are available here. It will be easier to find Klipsch, Kef, wharfedale, polk, pioneer, JBLs. Other brands will likely have to be imported and that would probably have a negative effect on my $2000 budget.

For the most part, any given person in your position would buy something different. So, not sure what you are trying to accomplish here. There is no consensus.

JBL studio 590 is hard to beat for their price point, if looking at the new, retail market. I would look at those first.
