I just purchased a restored marantz 2270 on ebay last weekand it arrived today damaged. I'm bummed but the seller gave me solid refund and I'm moving on looking for a repairman in LA to get her back to working order.

So I need a repairman recommendation for a good guy in Los Angeles. I live in Santa Monica so if anyone knows someone good on the westside, that would be ideal. But really my priority is getting it to someone who is knowledgeable about this stuff, so I'm willing to travel.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

I used AB&B Electronics in Tustin, the number is 714 838 1122. Ed does a great job, your stuff is ready when he says it will be and he has an awesome garage full of vintage stuff to look at :) he repaired my Dual turntable after Adams Electronics in Huntington Beach didn't do the work I paid for. Avoid them for sure! BTW, avoid Audio Specialist (in the Valley, very expensive fees to just look at your stuff and long wait times).
 
If you're going to do that, should include our own AK member Tinman... LA-based and an exceptionally skilled tech.

I didn't add that recommendation previously because I wasn't sure he would be too excited to take on this particular repair - no tech will be too excited to be the next guy inside a piece of gear that was already 1. "professionally restored", and 2. damaged in transit - but for high quality repairs or restoration work on gear ranging from open reel decks to CD players to esoteric video stuff, he's your man.
