Lost Cat advice

sorry about your kitty. unfortunately we out live our beautiful com-padres which is heart breaking. you gave her a good home for many years and can feel good about that.

sorry for the bad turn of events and for your loss...instead of just a behavioral problem,i wonder if her using the house instead of the litterbox was maybe a symptom of a larger underlying health issue?it wouldn't be unheard of,cats are tricky, they'll intentionally hide any signs that they're injured or unwell as much as they can.. :(

I am sorry for your loss.

It is beleived that cats strive to maintain their status within the hierchy of a clouder. Sick cats are often ostracized from the group and over the centuries of evolution, it is thought that they have learned to hide illness.

Sick cats often will withdraw from their group to die alone.

It is possible that your cat might have gone off knowing that she was ill. Maybe the cat became frightened and changed its mind and returned to the warm loving home she knew.

Of course, that is all speculation.

What is real is the loss you are probably feeling. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you had a special relationship with your cat and took care of a wonderful friend.

Glad to hear the kitty came home, Chris. My buddy's cat, Chairman Meow (still the world's coolest name) got stuck in the moving neighbor's uhaul, which went from Ky to MICHIGAN, and it took Chairman Meow a full year to get home.

He came to the back door, meowed, and was filthy. Ate two bowls of food, and slept for 48 hours straight. Otherwise, fine.

Effing CRAP.. I didn't read far enough.

SO very sorry, Chris. My own cat, Scout, never returned one night. Assuming something got her, whether car, malevolent thugs(plenty around here) or coyotes, of which there are many.

My sincere condolences.

Sorry for your loss. You did the best you could for her.

Stewart our cat last had to pay a visit to the emergency clinic last Saturday we think he was hit by a car.
He was not at home at 10 PM when we went to bed but at 12:00 my daughter (she is a Vet tech) called for him she heard a meow
and he barley could make it to the front door he was hiding under the bay window.
She took him in and he spent Sunday and part of Monday under their care.
He is recovering from a broken rib cage not the bone but the cartilage and a torn lip.

Unbelievable and yesterday he was meowing at the door to go out well that is not going to happen for a while.

Sorry again for your loss...

We have a neighbor which had specifically blamed her for an outdoor flea infestation and was pretty angry about it
What an incredibly ignorant supposition.

In any event, I'm so sorry for your loss. If your neighbor was involved, well, Karma takes care of such things in the long run.

Wow! So sorry to hear about this. I pray that God will comfort you and your family. I know all too well how it hurts to lose a cat.

We had a cat once that "adopted" us, cat owners will know what I'm talking about. He actually belonged to a dude up the street, he would walk by and see his cat in our window. We kind of knew him, he did mention once that he paid "a lot of money" for that cat. The cat wasn't any fancy breed, just a common or garden moggie. We told him that his cat was friends with our cat, and he didn't really mind I guess, his cat used to climb out of a high window to get out, what does that tell you?

Not long after, my parents went away, and I had the place to myself. No wild parties, I was in my early teens, so my friend came over and bought his computer with him, we played computer games all night and drank the beer we somehow managed to procure. Anyway, so the cat came in, my friend picked him up and got covered in blood. We had a look at him, and there was a very deep cut right by his tail, you could almost see right inside. It was very late, I didn't know what to do, so I made him comfortable and went to bed. I got up early next morning, and with a hangover took the cat on the bus to the vets. The vet said it looked like he had been bitten by a fox, he was probably being chased and the fox managed to get in a bite, hence it was on his behind. They stitched him up and I brought him home.

Sorry to hear about your cat.

Lee.
