That's what I thought, but I'm new and trying to get some equipment together. Just wanted to make sure from the pros.

While you're their to pick it all up...swing one block west and see my stash, as I live a block away from him. I bought a little pioneer reverb amp off of this guy yesterday for my home-studio, didn't need any more receivers or turntables. But..I did see what he was selling. It all looked to be in decent condition. The Radio Shack speakers are Nova 7b, looked pretty nice for what they were. I didn't check out the CS-88a closely, but they're big if that's your thing. The dual is kind of a lower-end model, with a wood-looking plastic-ish base. It looked to be in good condition. The odd thing about this TT is it often has a one-screw mount for the cartridge, but this one had the modified headshell with a standard mount, so good to go. The cartridge didn't look like anything special, though. Didn't look closely enough to see if the stylus was in good shape. Both receivers looked to be in decent cosmetic condition, though I looked at the kenwood closer than the Pioneer. All in all a decent deal I think.

Thanks a ton! I was actually a bit worried since Pilsen is renowned for being a shady neighborhood(At least my parents think so, has it changed?) and the seller hadn't posted any pictures. I'll stop by if you want, contact me by email, zackadamovic@hotmail.com.

email sent. And yes, parts of the neighborhood are shady but where I am, and this seller is, isn't bad. It's a small artist district full of lofts/loft apartments.

The pick of the litter for me would be the Radio Shack speakers, the turntable, and the Kenwood receiver, in that order. I'd probably just get the speakers and turntable, but I would definitely get the speakers for that price, unless they won't play. Even if they look bad that is a good-sounding speaker.

no mediocre stuff that you'll soon get rid of on craigs you can probably spend that $175 and get one really nice thing

never had a 70's era Kenwood I did not like, but, that being said, just off the top of my head, I believe that is a 20 wpc receiver. While it is well worth $60.00, it is not one of those WOW I got a great deal kind of things.
You could pick up a 40 wpc integrated amp off of ebay for between $65-80 shipped to your door.

It is a fair deal to both sides. I like integrated amps so would pick up a KA-3500 or something like that for about the same price - but, with receiver you do get a tuner.

No matter, I am a HUGE Kenwood fan - built great - love the warmth

Ditto.
If they are in nice shape, No question I'd jump.:thmbsp:

i'll sell you mine all day long for $25. Total unrefined junk. I can't even give them away for $10 when I have a garage sale :thumbsdn:

the CS-88 another one that you'll soon want to part with :thumbsdn: save the money and buy something decent all that's listed isn't even worth buying to flip as you'll be lucky to even break even
