Transformer V/I output stage for DAC.
The good engineers at ESS know there are one two people out there, that do high current things in low power places.
Now they can sleep knowing their hard work making that possible, is put to use.
The first transformer behaves as tone control, controlled by applyinvg loads that affect frequency response. This was 100-160ohms.
Second transformer is OPT for a simple FET amplifier and coupling ESS to final drive, giving more strain for ESS chip.
The DAC probably sees a little less than 100ohms. I had to sink the chip, and realized when it produced garbled robot music.
After heatsinks attached, rebooting luckily brought it back.
The housing is impressive, the lids are actually soldered on this, UTC emblem and winding information hard stamped into the case.
I dont know much about the transformer. I asked a UTC knowledgeable person that said it maybe a US Navy part.
