Low output MC carts for a SOTA Sapphire

That's good to hear! Then I shall not recommend the OC9X-series with the Sapphire.
My previous was an OC10, the 33PTG/II is warmer sounding all ready. So: Get an AT33EV or an AT33PTG/II but avoid the AT33Sa because Shibata.

I prefer Boron cantilever’s over other exotic cantilever’s anyway so no need to replace an OC9X series cantilever anyway unless it’s broken and in that case I would use Boron anyway. As far as stylus’s it’s a personal taste so if you don’t like Shibata then that’s your choice.

I’m pretty sure we get it you don’t like Shibata stylus :thumbsup:. I have come to learn that some people don’t like certain stylus or MC carts because they aren’t as skilled in the setup procedure which in turn causes the records to sound off therefore blaming the stylus, cart etc :dunno:

True that. The more exotic the stylus geometry the more skill is required to get the most from the stylus during the setup. Miss that one and your not getting the value for what you paid. Nothing wrong with loving a conical. Basically a set it and forget stylus vs a Line Contact or Shibata.

I have great difficulties seeing what benefits there are in a Shibata over an (AT) MicroLine, so I've decided not to go there. The article MRL_Audio links to confirms my, uh, bias.
It's all good.

I hope the OP Sapphire turns out like it should. I'm about to splash out a bit on mine.
