LTV owned Altec for awhile....... a large part of why Altec eventually went out of business. University was purchased by Altec at some point, and moved to the OK facility.
I have no idea what you are looking at in particular.

As I understand it, LTV bought both separately, then merged University into Altec at some point. Even before then, the Altec designers were working on some University stuff, from what I can tell.

I won't dispute that....... I don't know the specifics on that. Looking back, It was an assumption on my part that Altec did the buying, based on them being together.
i have an ltv "mini-flex" pair of speakers, with a university 6" woofer (the speakers are small 3-ways). i haven't taken one apart, but played with them tonight and they sound pretty good for having such a tiny woofer.
they say "University Loudspeakers. A division of Ling-Temco-Vought, White Plains, NY" on the back.
