Lux tp-117 tech issue ... straight CD great sound ... all else is silent

I've popped one of these into my system and LOVE the sound, immediately, of the first Weather Report album on SACD ... next up, SACD of Dire Straits "Love Over Gold" also hits it awfully nice ...

However, straight CD (which bypasses all else and goes from the CD player past all other internal circuits and such (I'm a musician, NOT an engineer) is the ONLY thing I can get it to play ... tuner, CD, aux, phono ... all are as quiet as a mouse. when I switch functions you can hear a very slight pop of whisper through the speakers ...

The signal path for "CD straight" bypasses the input selectors and balance control, and rejoins the path prior to loudness and volume ...

Also in the signal path diagram they show a jumper from "out" signal jacks to "in" processor ...

Can anyone suggest what sort of issue (including user error) might lead to this state of affairs? Obviously if the CD player plays correctly through the pre-amp on "straight CD" I've got at least the preamp output to my amps, and the CD output to the pre-amp, hooked up correctly ...

The pre-amp is set to "master", not slave ... because it is primary ...

I have the RTP-117 remote and it seems to be working correctly.

Cademan it does not have jumpers ... tape monitor is off ... so maybe I just need some jumpers? just looked at a photo of back panel of a 117 and they are there om the pic but not on my unit.

I'll let you know ... after I run a test with some cheap cables I saw some audioquest rca jumpers ... forty bucks, but they should do the trick ... any other suggestions I'm lissnen ... should list my system I guess it's Sony ES power amps, Linn Kabers, Angel's Horn table (awesome for $150, totally awesome really), the only other "new" gear is a Sony disc player that does SACDs ,,, Velodyne sub ...

really, anything will work that short... you could carefully cut and form some 12AWG solid copper wire scraps and it would work just fine. Nice unit, don't hear much talk about them, but I enjoy mine. I figured out all the remote codes so you can program an Xsight remote to control it, hook up a Luxman cassette deck, and even control 3rd party components all from one remote, if you care about such things.

It is a sweet improvement over the Sony pre-amp I was using ... TA-1000 ES ... it was just the jumpers, N8Nagel ... this 117 is virtually like new ... FM reception first first first rate ... (and we have a couple worth listening to here in OKC) ... I am catching a little cross-talk from FM into the phono pre-amp that I can hear when I turn up the volume without the tonearm down ...
