Hello,
I recently acquired a very nice vintage Luxman c-1010 control center (preamp) its in pristine condition cosmetically and fully functional. No blemishes, scratches, dents etc. All switches and dials are as they should be. Incredible sound quality! Only downside is no wood case but luckily I had one from an old Sherwood receiver that works. I've seen several on the bay that are all located in Japan from the same seller ranging from approximately $850 to $1200 with shipping. I did just see one that was local pickup SELL for $450 (which sounds like it was a deal) in Cincinnati. So does anyone out there have one of these or recently purchase or sold one & if so what's it worth? Thanks!

If you need a new cabinet get one built. If you need the rosewood, it will be a bit more but hell it is just a cabinet with some damn fine feet. You can get different feet, no big deal.
As to the preamp, these have gone up in price over the years, leaving the tube version (CL-35) as the higher priced units. A decade ago these C models were hard to sell for real money but over the years they have doubled or tripled in price to the 400-700 range depending. Still half what the tube unit goes for but at least they aren't under 200 anymore.
