Does anyone have a service manual / schematic for a Luxman CL-36 control amp / preamp? I just got one and it is functioning flawlessly but would like to do a refresh. If you have one or know how I might get a copy, would be greatly appreciated.
Mine is a 100 volt model. Just finished a fairly deep restoration but left all the films alone. Most of what needed attention were in the power supply and related. The power filters were fine, but replaced them anyway. I don’t like the need to go back in so try and address everything the first time. It sounds fantastic, don’t know how it could sound any better. Still waiting on the refinish of the cabinet. I also have a Citation I which I restored last year. I am going to hook th CL-36 up to my accuphase p300v sooner or later to hear what that sounds like. I may like it better than my accuphase c200v. Looking for a set of Luxman MB3045 monoblocks to eventually match with the CL-36.Just got a CL-35 mkIII myself just last week, I am really digging it with the Cit V! Just wondering about replacing the coupling caps, they look like metallized films and want to go to film/ foil. Is yours a 100 volt model? Be careful to run it on the correct voltage!

I did stay with all the original uf values but went higher on voltages. I went with Mundorf for the power filters and nichicon in the regulated supply. And primarily Ukl’s for the rest and a few wirths / ufg’s where appropriate for electrolytics. Overall it looked pretty good inside. And it came right up and stabilized at about 100mV lower mainline draw.Mine is a 100 volt model. Just finished a fairly deep restoration but left all the films alone. I won’t ever use those accessory plugs. And.. they must be quite reliable as the have been fine for 45 years. What makes you think they are “unreliable”. I can always change them out when I have it open again, but stacked films almost never fail? Are you just reading forums or have first hand knowledge?I do have the manual for my CL-35 Mk III, including schematic, in Japanese unfortunately. I could send you a copy of the schematic, but looking at the innards of yours, it looks significantly different from mine, although I haven't taken it down like you have. One thing I note are the Rifa caps on the mains outlet plugs, get rid of those as they are high failure! I went and checked mine out, since the PS caps are two-section and Chemicon, I left those alone as Chemicons are really good quality. Those big blue couplers, what are they? Certainly not the gray NTK metallized, which I want to replace in mine with film and foil caps when I get some of reasonable size!
Old Rifa's always blow up, seen it in Yamaha, Setton, Scott.I won’t ever use those accessory plugs. And.. they must be quite reliable as the have been fine for 45 years. I have a manual that you I downloaded. I think you can also reference the cl-35 as they are similarHi Jeffery, did you find a copy of the schematic? I have a CL-36 that needs to be repaired, right now it draws too much current and the protection circuit does not turn the amp on. I don't want to disconnect too many wires without having the service manual.
Thank you, but the PSU seem to be different in the cl-35 and the problem in my unit is with the PSU...I have a manual that you I downloaded. I think you can also reference the cl-35 as they are similar
Can you please share your copy with me?I downloaded my cl-36 manual from hifiengine if I recall.

It’s the 36, not sure why it says 35?There are front and back high res pictures of every board here
