There are some threads here, about this belt change. It bothers me that I have not completed this repair-it’s a PIA, so for now I have the carriage pulled back, zip tied it, and pulled the carriage motor bus.

I did the mechanism on a rx-101 amplifier. Same system.

For starters, you have to disassemble the entire mechanism starting with removing the moving face plate. Get a compartmentalized tray to keep track of screws as there are a lot.

Be careful of the microswitch as they are unobtainable.

Once you get all the way to the housing of the belt, be careful when opening as the drive gear is a series of 3 planetary gears.

Add a drop of machine oil to the motor while in there.

First time it took about 2 hours. Take plenty of pictures.

It is very doable, but plan on time and use a JIS screwdriver or grind the tip off a phillips to avoid cam out / stripping screws and work methodically. 20231117_115136.jpg

......And it is a royal PITA.

I was also able to repair the belt in the motor, but the damn microswitch is super fragile and I managed to break 2 of them! They can be modded to work with the face sucked in but that's no fun...
